While in Moldova, we are working with Andy and Nancy Raatz, who have been missionaries in this country for seven years.  They have several ministries set up, many involving victims of human trafficking, and we will be involved in many of these.

Freedom Home

Andy and Nancy Raatz have built and set up the Freedom Home, which is a house specially designed for women who have been victims of human trafficking to come to for help.  It is a home where these women can find the love of Christ and be healed by Him.  They are welcome to stay as long as they like and are ministered to in many ways, not only spiritually, but physically and socially as well.  For more information on the Freedom Home, visit the Raatzs’ website, by clicking here, or on the link at the right.

Video Ministry

We will also have the opportunity to work in preventing human trafficking from taking place in Moldova with a special video ministry.  We will be able to create videos about this slave trade, showing the horrors of it, and how it takes place.  These videos will be done in the native languages of the people of Moldova and we will take them to the towns and villages that are so often a target for traffickers and show them to the people there.  We will teach them what the men are like who come to kidnap them, and how they entice them away by offering them good jobs out of the country.  We hope that by educating the people about human trafficking, they will not so easily fall prey to it themselves.  This will be a very important part of our ministry, because, although it is extremely important to bring healing and restoration to the women who fallen victim to this horrible trade, it is far better still to prevent it from happening in the first place.

Other Ministries

There are a few other ministries that we may have opportunities to become involved in, including a Teen Challenge center, where drug and alcohol abusers can find freedom in the Lord, and an orphanage where children are in need of love and care, youth and church ministries, and other things that help to grow the church in Moldova.
